Don't be to upset about loosing this one Wanye, as a military collector myself I can say there are much better, cleaner and higher quality examples out there to add to your collection. its SEKI stamp means the normal showato, the mei is very rough, and iv always disliked battle field repairs. kind regards H

  3. call me a noob, but that hamon looks devoid of any activity, would have thought there would be some nie, sunagushi or yo. but the kissaki looks well finished. could this be a modern smith working in a mino style? EDIT, hope I didn't put my neck on the block
  4. Michael's Shodai is very interesting, with what im 98% sure is in type 94 mounts (getting rare now days). if you could please post more pics please, that would be great.

  10. Hi guys, with the slow pace of this thread, I have decided to steal/borrow a simular themed from tosugu. so how us your minty military gems. ill start, surrenderd in Burneo 1945 with full documation on both sides PS, I know your going to say its not a gunto, but you get the idea

  12. Hi guys, well this, Im sure is a long bow to draw. BUUTTTT does anyone know if theres swords survived ww2 and are still about to be viewed today. how many treasures were stored at this shrine? I would loved to know more about them and there history
  13. but also heres another interesting photograph its 2 army soldiers, but one has a type 32, BUT its the only recorded example of one with a weather cover for the scabbard. has anyone else seen this before? the photo is dated from the early 20's and I can only assume in china?

  20. Im going to be a downer, sorry but I think the kissaki is lost. had a small pit on a gendaito, took it to a well regarded togi, and he said it will never polish out. but it cant hurt to try, regards

  23. so after thinking it over, and iv decided to sell my 15 years of collecting to re-invest in my new family. so next step, I would like to sell the whole collection in one piece. any one know someone in Australia with a spare $20K it gets you 12 military swords, 3 listed in Fuller & Gregary books about 25 hard to find books 25 mint sake cups with tray 3 great flags 10 photos of admirals, generals etc assorted rare fittings including tsuka, tassels blah blah blah and a massive display case including my home made racks
  24. Its a manufacturers mark, iv got on a 2nd removable hanger for a shin gunto (most prob for a type 94) I don't know the meaning
