  1. Thanks guys for the input, something I’ve been researching for a few weeks now. Haven’t really found any info on the subject. I like the article about the hamon, that was interesting. For whatever reason I would’ve thought different folding techniques would bring different characteristics to the sword.
  2. Do different Hada’s have anything to offer against one another? Other than appearance. Did some smiths think one style of Hada had greater strength, flexibility things like that? Edward T
  3. It’s a shame people think just anyone can do this. sincerely Edward
  4. I’m so pumped new sword coming in stay tuned.
  5. Thank you guys for all the recommendations I really appreciate it. Sincerely Edward
  6. Can someone put me in the right direction to someone that can fix my little sword up? If not Ill figure it out myself which is fine but…
  7. Hey thanks Jean but I’m looking for some really high quality fittings.
  8. Hey guys who’s a good person to send my nihonto to for new fittings and everything?
  9. Wow the shape of this blade is stunning. At that price I can't believe this is still for sale. Massive Tachi, in polish with a gorgeous Harmon line & shape. It definitely checks a lot of boxes for my collection. Good luck with your sale. If it's still up for grabs by the end of the month I'll send you a message. Maybe we can figure something out with this one.
  10. Loving all the feed back you guys. Well by the sounds of it I'll be happy with his work. Definitely gonna reach out and set something up with Moses. So far I really like what I see. The fact that there's no problems going through shinsa is really all I needed to know. Thanks again you guys A++.
  11. @MarcoUdin wait time doesn't bother me, seems to be common to have some wait time for this kind of thing. Thank you for the reply. I think I'd feel more comfortable with a traditionally trained togishi.
  12. You rock John, love to see the willingness to help. Nihonto community is legendary because of actions like this. Sincerely Edward
  13. @dschumann so sorry to hear of your condition. On a positive note, I do believe Nihonto have a lot to offer in the touch department. With the white inspection gloves one could get satisfaction just from the feel of a Nihonto in hand.
  14. Hello NMB members. Has anyone used Nihonto antique's for a sword restoration? If so how did the transaction go and or quality of work. Would be nice to send it out for a one stop shop restoration? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely Edward
  15. @Michael 67 yeah I could tell it was a high quality blade right away just from it's shape. Truly beautiful, a pleasure just to see pictures of. It's just so strange how the rating system works for the WW2 blades. I commented just because I generally don't understand it. Would love feed back on a perfect example right in front of us. Cheers Edward
  16. I would like to bump this for you. How is this gorgeous, reasonably priced Gunto still forsale. Come on people snag this while you can.... Looks to be in almost perfect condition.
  17. Oh. Was just confused, I tried to sell a sword to Matt and I was told by Matt himself because the smith was only rated 1 million yen it wasn't worth much. It also wasn't a shrine sword like this one though. I think the shape and length of this one is much more appealing. Mine did have a much more extravagant hamon.
  18. @matthewbrice correct me if I'm wrong please,he's rated 1.8 million?
  19. Wow that's a steal of a deal my friend. I think this would make a perfect starter blade.
  20. Good call, alot people will have you take pictures send this send that. In the end they just wanted to tell you what to do, not really interested.
