  1. The highest shelf sake I can find in the US is nothing like what my friends keep bringing back to me from the source.
  2. FYI, aoi and others are shifting to FedEx. Received 3 of my 4 shipment from Japan, start to finish they took 4 business days. On the other hand, waiting on some tsubas from Europe which haven't moved an inch in weeks after being dropped off... Seems shut down for the moment there.
  3. Im a sucker for wave themed koshirae, love that fuchi!
  4. Thanks for the kind words! From the incredibly intricate wire/bead work to the high quality samegawa, detailed dragon menuki, well done Ito and saya, I am very happy with this ebay purchase Kogatana blade aside(wish I could make out the mei), there isnt a scratch, ding or blemish to be found.
  5. Based on average drool collected per image, #2 is the winner for me.
  6. Yikes, I have 4 shipments still in Japan on their way to me via EMS...
  7. Something like what I posted on the below thread? http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/31876-any-insight-on-this-styleschool/?do=findComment&comment=328426

  9. From my understanding, the main issue people have with RW is trying to remove it after a year+. Hope it goes ok for you down the road now that its been applied to your whole collection!
  10. Good find, thank you!
  11. Your referring to something like this? Wire work looks a bit similar without the beads but not sure about that given the rest of the matching fitments which I dont think would receive enamel like a tsuba would?
  12. So delicate, I like them both as well
  13. Owner says Filgree/arabesque but curious what the NBTHK reads.
  14. Thanks Brian, I can see some resemblance with the wire and bead work, quite interesting!
  15. Anyone have insight into this style/school? Assuming Edo? Any translator have to get anything from the NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper?
  16. Nicer vehicles, houses, vacations, other type of collectibles, earlier retirement? To each their own..
  17. Thanks for the input everyone! Love to learn ????
  18. Interesting, thanks for the input guys Not my blade found listed on eBay for $1199, more pictures on Facebook link above.
  19. Interesting leathery look. Without the historical significance I wouldn't pay a lot for it but enough there to appreciate it for what it is. Aesthetic appeal is very individual and personal. Everyone has their own preferences and value changes accordingly.
  20. Thanks Paul! Jean, here are some pictures:
  21. Came across this, curious if this is an example of a blade that has been re-tempered? Looks a little funny in some spots/angles. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Samurai-sword-and-others-311039152711539/photos/?tab=album&album_id=842749512873831&ref=page_internal
  22. Anyone disagree that the suriage waki blade below is likely a Izumi no Kami Rei Kinmichi? Little uncertain about the center of the crysanthemum is circular vs star shaped.
