    Need advice, please!

I am impressed - how long did it take you to salvage this from loss ?
  2. Beautiful and the condition is May be tough to come up with a fair evaluation for a straight sale - would they not bring more for the seller at a high end auction somewhere? Is there any chance that they could be made available at the set price on the Board - not that I am gonna make an offer today :D

  4. Chris: You mentioned a product called "SHEATH". What is it and are there any similar products in NA? Is it the gun oil >>?
  5. Serious problems with many sites on the net - not just e-bay. Bought a watch from a guy and when it got to me it was "sort of" as described but many changes and not as advertised. The problem I had was the guy had a return policy with a 20% re-stocking fee !! Called Mastercard - sent all data from web site - photos and some other stuff and they just took the money out of his account . I was surprised considering that the return fee was well posted but as the item was misrepresented -= it all worked out fine
  6. SO if you offered him 1100 dollars as a best offer and won on e-bay you would still pay more than on the auction >>?? :x :x
  7. GO to the http://thegunstorelasvegas.com/ and fire a full auto or any other gun you want - nuts but a hell of a lot of fun. There are several in the area so check them out - SHANIA === Canadian Goddess -

    true Dai-Sho

    Very nice - classy
  9. Thanks to both descriptions as they fairly accurately show and explain why the name and the description come together !
  10. That works for me - done it a lot - however be hopeful it doesn't get lost and you have to describe it to collect on the insurance..
  11. You can make an offer you know - wonder if they would take $2500? Not the Muramasa I guess but nice blade.
  12. I would never be able to do that - however - I did make sekigane by the lost wax method used in making gold crowns for teeth - using copper - I simply waxed in the area on the tsuba with the carving wax we use and after investing it in the proper compound t hahad my local lab man cast it as he would a crown. Once finished I polished off the sprue pin and burnished it into place. I was at least sure that I would not scratch either the nakago or the tsuba while making the tsuba tight There is no way by warming and carving the wax patterns that you could scratch anything
  13. RE : The pentagram - as you said it seems to be a universal and ancient symbol but I wonder about the variation in its usage and its meaning ?
  14. I am sure it would be awful without your input Mr. Sinclaire - it is amazing how the media's interpretation of validity of facts often differs from reality with no repercussions OR corrections. THe very worst is announced new medical studies by some loon in his basement and when pointed out that it is completely without any basis- never corrected. Then again - facts in themselves are often boring
  15. Here are the furnishings from the mounts from my Kanefusa and they are signed by Hirotoshi but not the hirotoshi but they are iron
  16. Looks a bit like Takanaka? http://www.otomiya.com/kamon/plant/sasa.htm
  17. No surprises here Mr. Sinclaire - excellent as I would expect - great pictures and descriptions of all items. Do you believe they will continue to offer these to people who don't subscribe or pay ? Thanks for these in any event.

  19. Looks Exceptional - will it be offered directly for sale from yourself or ? Has any thought been given to setting a value on the set?
  20. I have no idea but again do not miss the honour - I do however like them very much
  21. I understand now - perhaps it is possibly "a" Masamune but I would even doubt that .
  22. Unbelievable - I really can not get my head around the artistry and talent required to make such a beautiful piece. I am sure Ford can but for myself I can only look slightly open-mouthed .
  23. Marcello: To believe it is gimei is probably a slight understatement vs Chris saying it IS gimei.
  24. IS that what "on the fringes" means?
  25. I agree Ford - please don't take one comment as being the thoughts of the 2700 members of the board however and continue to share both your pictures and your knowledge as you see fit
