Pete, Haynes states that YUKINORI 12452 died circa 1700 / 1750. My Tsuba looks much more about 1850. The signature from shinsen Kinko Meikan looks effectively more similar and correspond to Chris translation

Dear all, I have in my collection a Tsuba signed Yuki Nori but signature does not correspond to any Haynes listed artist. Tsuba is really late Edo (meiji ?) and no artist signing with those Kanji is registered? Can some one help me? Thank you

Denis, 100% Jakushi but you should remove the red rust to have it looking beter and to protect it for the future.

Hello, I need some help for those two small Tsuba I purchased some time ago. Both are in Shibuichi representing a sennin (1st Tsuba is 5.8 cm high and second one 6 cm high). I am pretty sure that first Tsuba represents KO-SHO-HEI (Taoist priest under chinese name Hwang Chu Ping) with stones being transformed in his goats. But what about the second One? Does someone can give ideas ? I assume those tsuba are Hamano, but should you thing they are Nara or Mito please advise. Thank you for your kind help

Hi, I was wandering if somoneone could help me in getting details on this Tsuba of my own collection? Based on a Kozuka (#81) of "Claude THUAULT collection - KOZUKA 100", it could be a FUNADA IKKIN Tsuba style (Haynes 01864) . Thank you for your comments and clues.

Hi, Tsuba looks very similar to Nara Tsuneshige Style (Mid 18th century)
-
Of course, but give me some days as it is currently in a safe. I'll post better pictures as son as i'll have it in hands.

Hello, I guess this Tsuba is Kaga School. Plate is in Suaka with Shakudo inlays. Is it correct or someone has better views on the school ? Thank you for your advise

Junichi, another clue it might be Umetada with a similar Tsuba sold by Bonhams in 2012 (USD 1250 with premium) : http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19696/lot/2299/ Best regards Bruno P.

Hi, I purshased some years ago a Tsuba similar to yours signed Yamashiro Ju Shugeyoshi . Might be gimei....But nevertheless I would guess Umetada school. Bruno P.

It is quite a trend for Namban Tsuba. I have a similar exemple where the carving is different both sides. Anayway they all are late Edo ... Bruno P.

As far as Europe is concerned, very old collection items (collections beginning of 20th century) with pictures in the auction catalogues at that time (Marquis de Tressan, Behrens, Bing, etc...) are estimated twice or 3 time the price of a similar tsuba with no reference. Depends on you choice: either the object of the references. Bruno P.

Similar Tsuba at Bonhams in better quality: http://m.bonhams.com/auctions/17513/lot/3125/ Similar in size and .... in price. Not my test personnaly . Enjoy Bruno P.

Tsuba with Kanji - Signature Mori Hisa?
Kurikata replied to Kurikata's topic in Translation Assistance
Thank you for this very interesting information. In fact apparently, this sentence is very well known. Thank you again Bruno P. -
Here , another tsuba with Kanjis to be translated. The tsuba is a Kanji at itself.... But which One ? What is its meaning ? I saw similar tsuba with Monkeys.... As far as the signature is concerned the tag says it might be Mori Hisa. But I cannot recognize these Kanji on this Tsuba. The tag says that this tsuba was sold in 1923 at de Haviland Action in Paris. It has also been in Ernest le Véel collection afterwards. If you can copy me with the catalog pages, I would be more than happy. Thank you for your help. Bruno P.
