  1. Ummm Paul? You forgot to sign your post. :D
  2. Different light can make all the difference. To see faded utsuri I use an led flashlight. I found blue light works well accidentally by holding the blade up to a blue screen on my TV. Works great.
  3. That stupid rumor has destroyed more ito's than the war... but it's still out there.
  4. And for those of you planning to look under the leather now please don't.
  5. I.... Hesitate to say this but at least get a window polished. *sigh* Frankly I think that's a great blade in disguise.
  6. Got mine a lot cheaper but that was a long time ago...
  7. Less desirable than what? Juyo level? Trent S *wince* Hoping to get out of that question. I mean koto with hagire, I mean great names with great flaws. *sigh* I mean blades that no one here would collect but might have some sort of historical value.
  8. Can you show it to us Barry?
  9. Quick question. Is there any reason to collect... less desirable pieces? I mean, I dont want to see them melted down but looking at this, will they ever be anything but artifacts?
  10. *sigh* If Chris thinks it's fake it is. Still... It looks sooo good.

    uchiko must die

Ok. Low humidity = don't use uchiko. I live in Arkansas. I assume the microfiber works here ok, right?
  12. See what I mean?
  13. I'm wrong most of the time for reasons... well if I knew that I wouldn't be wrong now would I? As far as I can see this is a beautiful example. What's the back look like?
  14. Can you please show the edge?

Sorry Brian. I'll take my meds now. No idea why I thought this came from grey.

    uchiko must die

Cryptic? Sounds like a cross between a burial place and a blood sucking insect... Congress? Anyway I meant that in all the thousands of posts I've read here this is the first I've heard of anti-uchiko. Now I know. Microfiber cloths instead. Did you know that microfiber cloths were invented in in the 1960's to replace dish cloths? They were called sponges. 'Course they were macrofiber cloths...

Wow Grey. Great info. I looked at the pics before reading the post. I thought the second picture was the real thing until I saw the third one.
  18. Someday... I'll get to see something like those in person. Congratulations!
  19. This was obviously done during the age of aquarius. Possibly the dawning of it.

    uchiko must die

    ???? *blink* Thank you.
  21. I'm a freak of saving the dead and dying. If you collect artifacts try offering them a bit less and seeing where that goes. *shrug* I'm not ashamed to collect them since I cant afford museum quality, signed works. You'll never find a "gem" this way though.
