    Well done!
  2. If they tweak their papers and their business model. They can declare their papers their property in perpetuity and either hold fake papers until the owner can prove they're legitimate. Or they can stamp fake papers as fake and give them back to the owners. They are the ones who issue the certs and they can update them as they see fit. It's not unknown for other orginazations to do this.
  3. That took a LOT of work! Thank you so much. For providing an amazing product at a very low cost and for supporting the NMB with the proceeds! I salute you sir!
  4. I got one too! Also I just love the hamon on your sword. :sigh: I can't remember the terms... but it's the nie line above the nioi? That I really enjoy.
  5. Woot! Got it! Can't wait to get it... Wait. That doesn't make any sense does it?
  6. Well yes. Unless you're an idiot. Like I was in the last auction I bid on. I got a 20.00 tsuba for only 30.00! Great deal huh?

Hmmm, how bout one of those bags that you vacuum the air out of to keep your clothes fresh?
  8. "blink" Really??? Cousin! Probably... there aren't now and never have been, a lot of Bones. I'd have to get the book but I know there are several Sarah's in it.
  9. Hi Alexiss! Please introduce yourself in the new members thread. Just click on the Nihonto Message Board, in bold at the top, then general nihonto then the new members thread. Welcome!
  10. My ancestors came to england in 1056 from France. They came to America with William Penn to form the Pennsylvania colony. And still I'm poor. Go figure.
  11. Welcome Jinx! My first buy was a fake too. You've gotta start with the recommended books and go to any sword shows you get a chance at. A lot of times militaria shows will have a few but it's not really the same.
  12. Hmmm, I don't know. I've never seen a chinese fake that looks that bad. Hey Jinx? You're likely to get more feed back if you go to new member introductions. Just click on the Nihonto message board at the top of the screen (in bold letters) then general nihonto disscusion. It's the 4th or 5th thread down.
  13. Thanks all!
  14. Exactly what my friend Jamie said to do. I can't tell you how helpful he's been to me on so many levels. I had no idea it was Soshu and no idea what hitatsura was until I sent it to him. He did it all for free too. I really appreciate you buddy. So... getting hold of Bob Benson?
  15. Why not sell your blue to him and then buy my brown  I don't think anyone but me would want this one. It has notes in the margins and corrections on smiths written. I had a second one that was absolutely pristine. Even had the rice paper over the red seal on the title page. I sold it and made a few bucks as I'm the kind of person that uses books and that one was more for a collector of books. Besides, I only have volume one. Would you trade for 5 worthless cough I mean priceless tsuba?
  16. and Ken is gone. Ah well. The rest of you have seen it. Could just be a poor polish not letting all the activity show?
  17. Anyway, these pics have been seen by everybody by now. Jamie believe it's Hiatsuru. I still think it may be bo utusri with ummm dammit! Something yaki. sorry guys it's on the tip of my tongue. Anyway, what do you think?
  18. Maybe this will work..http://s43.photobucket.com/user/boneami/library/Sa
  19. You've probably seen this so often as to make you sick but here's the original thread. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e382/ ... a/Sa13.jpg It's not THE Sa obviously but it' so full of life if you could just see it in hand.
  20. I sent this sword to Jamie who, after studying it carefully and under a loop told me this sword was interesting. There is a LOT of activity that's disguised by a poor polish. Actually he said the geometry was all wrong. But also warned me that it might not take another polsih which leaves me in limbo. I desperately want to hear from an expert who's seen this in hand instead of pitiful pics avaiable. There 's a LOT of activities not seen there. Is there ANYONE I can send her to someone who could tell me if this blade is worth polishing or if I should sell it and strive for something better. I count on you guys. Sincerely, Steven PS This sword has been discussed at length here. Both Mark Green and Reinhard suggested it needs to be studied by a pro. Any volunteers?
  21. Probably just me but isn't the connosiuers book a lot more useful, especially to newbies? That being said I cant get rid of Hawleys... also mine is a deep blue cover from 66. Any difference between the two?
  22. James, Just click on the Nihonto Message Board near the top in bold letters. General Nihonto related messages. Then fifth thread from the top.BTW Morita san? Is one of the most knowledgeable people in the world on the subject of Nihonto. He is simply amazing and very helpful!
