I am not sure about the correct reading for 橘窓子. However, I think that it might be possible to read Kissoshi (a euphonic change form Kitsusoshi). There is a word 橘窓 (kisso), which means a window with a view of citrus trees. 5 Quote

This has risen in discussion on rare occasions, however, I don't know the name of it or what its purpose is. Anyone know?? I have a Muromachi tachikanagushi tsuba with an identical feature.
