MacTheWhopper Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 I have the opportunity to purchase this sword. The seller says the maker is Kojima Yoshimichi who was a Seki swordsmith during Showa era. I googled the name but couldn't find much about him and the pieces I did find had a different signature. The swords looks be in really good condition and from Dawson's book, it seems to be correct. Is the name of this sword maker correct? The seller said thew would take 700.00 for this sword, shipped which seems fair. I don't think its a fake but i'm no expert by any stretch, is the price reasonable on it? Quote
David Flynn Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 This is a low level Showato (non tradionaly made). The price seems Ok. 2 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 I’d say price is normal too. I don’t follow the smiths so can’t help there. 2 Quote
Dave R Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Looks fairly typical of it's type. Decent condition, out of polish and the usual faded to brown lacquer on the saya. Quote
lonely panet Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 I think it looks like Yoshinao mei. But its so chippy and sloppy Quote
