Fuuten Posted August 14, 2019 Report Posted August 14, 2019 (edited) Will it not ever continue to be a case by case thing? I mean some of these I would personally like were it not for circumstances and finances. But is there a general trend other than just the average of prices and supply? The one on the bottom is interesting. Rarely if ever see that shape! #2 & #3 are nice as well. One doesn't entice me too much. The famous ox motive in iron is more my thing if I were sourcing an example. Edited August 14, 2019 by Fuuten 1 Quote
Brian Posted August 14, 2019 Report Posted August 14, 2019 I think there is an increase in popularity of soft metal tsuba....good ones. You don't find the bargains you used to. Patina is more appreciated now, as is good execution.I find that looking at too many of the good ones makes me sorta go "ho-hum" at others I would have jumped at years ago. This is of course natural and the way we are supposed to evolve. But comparing those above, the one you lost doesn't do too much for me now. That Umetada style one though.... 2 Quote
tbonesullivan Posted August 14, 2019 Report Posted August 14, 2019 Well... raw copper is definitely up. Sadly one of my other loves is brass instruments, and they just keep getting more and more expensive due to material costs. Quote
Greg F Posted August 15, 2019 Report Posted August 15, 2019 I like the last two, is the bottom tsuba iron rim? I think it would look nice mounted. Greg Quote
