Bazza Posted December 22, 2018 Report Posted December 22, 2018 GOTOU ?? KAO IMHO Goto its not... BaZZa. Quote
uwe Posted December 22, 2018 Report Posted December 22, 2018 “Gotō Denjō” + Kao, like BaZZa suspected (I assume)?! Legit.....??? Quote
nickm Posted December 22, 2018 Author Report Posted December 22, 2018 I appreciate the replies.. So the general consensus seems to be gimei? By no means am I heart broken as I definitely bought the blade without fittings in mind.. Would have been more of a bonus if it was authentic I guess.. Still I rather like the tsuba, never owned a forgery. Fun in its own way 1 Quote
uwe Posted December 22, 2018 Report Posted December 22, 2018 Steve is right! I should have looked more carefully... Quote
nickm Posted December 22, 2018 Author Report Posted December 22, 2018 I appreciate the clarification. Should be assumption still be gimei? Quote
MauroP Posted December 23, 2018 Report Posted December 23, 2018 Here below the signature of Gotō Senjō reported in "Signatures of Japanese Sword Fittings Artists" by Markus Sesko. As you can see the kaō is quite different from your tsuba... Quote
nickm Posted December 23, 2018 Author Report Posted December 23, 2018 well that pretty much sums it up.. Thanks again for everyones help. Quote
