New Tsuba

I picked up two tsuba this weekend, & would appreciate assistance on the signatures:

 

 

I'll post the second tsuba after I figure out an angle & lighting so the mei is visible. Thanks!

I am afraid this does not look like a genuine TSUBA. Signature reads ISHIGURO MASAAKI.

Yep... obvious cast.. Sorry Ken.  Look at the Mei.. there are no chisel marks. The kanji are very rounded off and smooth. This is the give away.

Is it from the new Paul Chen Collection for $49?

 

I bought last year a very cheap "Origin" metal tsuba from a german collector on ebay. After i recieved it, i throw it directly in the waste and hope my wife didn't see it. But the best is, from this day i got every month news from Paul Chen

Actually, I got them at a local garage sale for $50. I was fairly sure that first one was a cheap fake, but I never throw things away until I'm sure. I would have just bought the Heianjo, but the guy wouldn't break up the "set" -

The Heianjo looks not bad, if it is genuine. Good Price!

the HEIANJO looks genuine; a nice one! For that amount of money, a very good deal! The other ones could still serve as washers.....
