No,seriously, does anybody know what coud represent the sukashi in the first picture?

Maybe a classical representation of myoga (ginger)? And is the sukashi on the second picture the same motif simplified?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

The birds usually associated with ginger sprouts are wild geese (karigane myōga zu - 雁金茗荷図). The sukashi in the second tsuba are called warabide - 蕨手 (the shape of unpan, a cloud-shaped gong, is a little different)..

Bye, Mauro
