  1. I am glad you found this forum Gunnar. Hope you enjoy it. :D
  2. I am not the one to answer your question. I would recommend that a large portiion of your initial sword budget be spent on books, books, and more books. Get connected with a sword club, learn what makes a good sword and handle as many swords as you can. Go to as many sword shows as you can. Read, study and learn. Be patient. Don't be too anxious to buy a sword. There will be plenty of time for that later.

    SOSHO MEI

I believe Christian was speaking in jest. As Eric points out workmanship and art speak for themselves. What is it with you guys and snakes?? Is this a Garden of Edenthing?

    SOSHO MEI

Pristine and unmounted were they intended as gifts?
  5. Rich, allow me to add my thanks for your generosity and for taking the time and effort to construct such a useful site. :D
  6. Early Owari, Marius? A truly noble pursuit and I wish you well with it. :D Let me know if any ko Akasaka become expendable as a result.
  7. Welcome Kieran! There is a wealth of information here especially in the archives. Enjoy yourself. :D
  8. I hope you're right Ted, although there is this little voice in the back of my head that reminds me "there is nothing so permanent as a 'temporary' government program."
  9. Thanks Jean, when I grow up I want to be just like you. :D

    What do you see?

It's whatever you want it to be, Eric.
  11. Alas, Jean I have yet to attend an NMB party anywhere. Due in part to my near monastic life-style since my liver turned to concrrete! :D Pete, I suspect that given the exchange rate Fred would much prefer to be seller rather than a buyer. Besides DTI looks like a place for those far more experienced in nihonto than moi. :D
  12. I will look forward to your photos of that blade.
  13. Make it easy, Jock, please post a link.
  14. I have not received one yet. Should I feel rejected? :D
  15. Jean, why, in FW1, is hageyama smiling???
  16. I continue to be amused that people who go this kind of trouble, either scam or legit, don't bother to find someone who is fluent in the language they are choosing to use.
  17. Malcom, thanks for the link. I recall the carp displays but was not aware of the how that display evolved.
  18. I forgot to ask but are any DTI attendees in need of a liver donor? :D
  19. I never cease to be amazed at the imagination and resourcefulness of the Nigerian email industry.
  20. Glad you had a good experience. :D
  21. My thoughts also but, as usual, Keith has preceded me with speed and eloquence. I'm enjoying this thread. :D
  22. Fred does do good work...and so do you, Rich. :D
  23. Pete, just out of curiosity who did the work?
  24. Fred looks to be dozing peacefully behind his display case. Still soaking up a little jet-lag. :D Lay off Cyrus' shoes, they're cool! ...and thanks for the photos and the vicarious thrill of DTI. :D
  25. C'mon Jason you're pulling my leg.
