  2. https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/210908453_militaria-wwii-Japanese-shin-gunto-type-95-sword-larchmont-ny Iron tsuba, 67k ish number. Repainted saya?
  3. Its not even about copying patterns. They are masters in aging. But as gunto are not in high price bracket yet we wont see their real forged masterpieces. You can pick any crest you need https://ebay.us/m/oZyKOR
  4. I meant its not that rare. But still irrelevant to discussion about quality of modern chinese imitations.
  5. I know that seller in my link is selling imitations. Men I was mentioning quality of mounting. I even posted it in fake tab. This cucamonga seller is real trouble. Leather cover like posted by me pops up really often.
  6. Someone was warning us here about fake blades in genuine mountings. Maybe entire package was fake from beginning.
  7. Fittings looks good for "genuine" fake, except sarute maybe. https://ebay.us/m/6Wka9Q
  8. Mekugi is bamboo? Looks kinda red. If it is african rosewood then its wood used in chinese imitations.
  9. Yeah brand new golden one.
  10. Random assembly? Tsuba have room for chuso. Fuchi have kinda chuso release button. But rest? Some kind of gunzoku/island sword made quick?
  11. Would this be muku kitae?
  12. Professional packaging. Fuchi also is stamped 265. Dunno what painted signs means. Probably 265 on one side. Really nice example for future reference.
  13. Don't go crazy about this smith. He made 1600 blades in Yasukuni alone.
  14. Be patient. You can afford to be picky with this amount. Wait longer and buy healthy saya [this one have some bad spots]
  15. Nakago looks so good. But having good polish is more important.
  16. Yeah If you interested in having blade that can cut go for return. Cost of polish would get you another mounted gendaito. Especially as it is your first sword.
  17. Sharpening sth so dull? Blade needs to be polish entirely.
  18. Good price imo. Decent mountings 400-500$ how long is nagasa? Blade looks longer then usual.
  19. Could you tell us how much? Wait for smith name. It have good mountings.
  20. Men it is possible. Owner should look closely for hamon line if it isnt too low. Chcking this tsuba now. Center chuso, one haikan, tsuba from first years of production?
  21. Maybe somebody grinded ha to fit in this koshirae? parts looks good.
  22. Would put my money on it being fine gendaito just in need of polish.
  23. @Bruce Pennington type 98 with central chuso? Should they appear late war? But this fat closed tsuba... Mei looks promising. Nice executed. More like gendaito. Maybe random assembly.
  24. Link dsnt work
