  1. https://sword-auction.com/en/product/27692/as25131-katana:mumei-attributed-to-kanenaga-無銘兼長-38th-nbthk-juyo-token/ Are there any indicatiins that blade was retemper? So wide yakiba.
  2. I posted @Jussi Ekholm list. How much in % of all swords in public market he couldn't put there? How much can be in private collection which never surfaced? Those numbers are intetesting as He gathered less then 16k swords below jidai 1450.
  3. Koshirae is Tachi...
  4. It dsnt feel like Japanese made sword. Throw it back to the river
  5. Dig through this thread Especially added file. No seki stamp but you can't be certain. I would expect total of 2k£ [with 30% premium] What kind of hamon it have? Gunome hoji? Descroption states midare. On photo 2 it looks wide and deep.
  6. Edit to post signatures closeups
  7. Show us more. You are collecting mei or swords? Focus more on blade condition.
  8. Try to find matching holes :] better buy another gunto
  9. Please redact your contact info here and send him a pm. Its not about members but possible bots scaning for this kind of info.
  10. Its torokusho. Check this reference for more answers. It indicates blade being made in traditional way. https://www.jssus.org/nkp/japanese_sword_laws.html But I myself have trouble with understanding what "traditional" mean in relation to shinsaku era swords.
  11. Very important advices and from me more important one above all else - check sellers stock. If seller have many photos done in different ways he is reseller. Now you decide to go simple way and still buy it or look in an ocean for original offer. It can save you some $ and give fun.
  12. This tax is based on value of item not category so you probably think that it only aplies to houses and cars. Buying car/house is always done publicly as you need to register those as new owner. In my country purchases above ~230€ are taxed with 2% [deal done between 2 physical persons]
  13. Excellent sword. If it would be longer it would be in crazy price.
  14. https://ebay.us/m/HYaimu I saw couple of times as you have broken handles in your kyu. Posting here not in military tab. Maybe you will find it worthy. One have crest.

      • Thanks
  15. Tsuba is modern. Whats more important is wood tsuka is made of. I would treat nakago with oil here. Just a little bit to kill rust.
  16. Thank you. Some provenance is welcome. No extra pocket for sword itself.
  17. You surely have tax on civil law transactions. And buying online is meant as buying in country where buyer is. Its hard for me to translate so called "spirit of law" but I assume sth like this tax exists in entire Europe.
  18. Check fees for antiques. 8% for older then 100 years probably.
  19. Suspicious? Obvious cast. Buying on ebay? I bought less then 10 items in last 10 years Its good only as database for potential real sellers. Tsuba you posted is somewhere there for around 100$ But those sellers I gave you have good opinions even here.
  20. @Jussi Ekholm should know he have sources to his database and if any of listing reappeared he definitely made some corrections.
  21. Please check @Jussi Ekholm list for comparison. https://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/53018-Japanese-old-sword-database/#comments Mind blowing source.
