  3. Alexander just a suggestion a good book you should get is The Connoisseur's book of Japanese Swords and as Alex suggested search the overseas websites hope it helps.
  4. If you decide to go the overseas route do a lot of research even Juyo status blades may have flaws and returned, or lack of papers and the price doesn't always reflect that.

With my limited knowledge the website Sho-Shin Horikawa school has information on the school and pictures and Nihonto.com has a Nidai as it specifies it on the Kanteisyo not sure if there was a third generation the earlier ones were sometimes signed with Rai hope this helps seeing some in hand they are a masterpiece.

Good luck on your sale Sir someone will get a very special piece it is very competitive market especially when something comes up and then theirs 400 views on it when you're trying to acquire because of personal reasons as a collector may I suggest other hobbies such as Vintage car racing in our circles there are Cobra's, Ferrari Etc. And we use them and it's a great community of people and the worry of shipping and getting taken advantage of is lower although I do have to give Kudos to Sarutasan he is a good man and others here.
  16. EMS and USPS are active to date just received two separate shipments two weeks apart from Japan defiantly the scariest part of the process.

  20. HI, would really appreciate anyone's thoughts on a Shinto era katana UBU having 3 holes in the Nakago and one plugged would it effect the value of the sword greatly from a collectors standpoint I understand one mekugi- ana hole is preferable and its common on Koto blades.
