  1. Note from AOI says EMS is down too so only sea mail is an option for the US for a while which can take months...

Hi Rich, the Daisho is Shoami Signed and dated: Yoshu Matsuyama Ju Shoami Moriyoshi saku. Living in songshan mountain in yuzhou. Anei period, one lucky day in February 1780 (豫州松山住人 正阿弥盛祥作 安永九庚子歳二月吉祥日) Im told the kanji scattered about are stylized versions of "kotobuki" meaning longevity

As promised, here are some individual pictures of my recent acquisitions in better detail, hope my photography is up to par. I realize nothing super amazing here, very budget oriented collection, trying to save $ for blades after all but attempting to get a little representation of everything. Please enjoy! Edit: Looks like they are uploading a bit out of order for some reason, adding external link too https://imgur.com/a/KfgmGY1
  6. Classic Ono, his Yamadorige utushi-mono stands by itself
  7. Need an option to buy and provide your own tsuba though in my opinion
  8. Thank you all for the kind words! As they say, so much better in hand, I hope to capture in detail with my Nikon soon. Most of these are from Dale Miner's collection being consigned through Andrew Quirt. I live 5 minutes from Andrew and just couldn't help myself on several occasions when I was over parusing his inventory. Jakushi in upper right and massive tachi are from Elliot while the Shoami Daisho and Haruta plum tree(NBTHK hozan)in the upper left are from David Easley.
  9. Yep, that's what I have shown in the translation picture too
  10. Thank Dale, appreciate the link, it was one provided further above as well
  11. Just sharing some of my recent acquisitions over the past couple months while being stuck home. Thanks to Covid I have too much time on my hands and its really reeking havok on my bank account... Apologies on the poor cell phone pictures, il be working on individual shots soon.
  12. Akin to the first scratch on a new car, yes it stings, but we learn to live with it and move on. No appreciation for your blade need be lost, its still a beauty that can be adorned, studied and passed on
  13. Thanks for the kind words, can't wait to get it in hand ????
  14. My contribution, a recent Enomoto Sadayoshi acquisition thats currently in route to Tirado for shirasaya. Unique specs and characteristics, which happen to align with my personal taste, were requested by Iaido/Kendo master Mr. Sekiguchi who originally commissioned the piece to celebrate his 6th Dan back in the 80s. http://www.sword-auction.jp/en/content/as18465-%E5%88%80%EF%BC%9A%E6%98%AD%E5%92%8C%E4%B8%99%E5%AF%85%E7%A7%8B%E6%B9%A7%E6%B0%B4%E5%BF%83%E8%B2%9E%E5%90%89%E4%BD%9C%E7%84%A1%E9%91%91%E6%9F%BB-katanashowa-hinoe-tora-yusuishin-sadayoshi-sakumukansa

  16. If not for that international shipping to the US ☹️
  17. Gassan Sadatoshi from what I hear

  19. Hi Scifighter, May I first ask, have you read up or studied nihonto much yet? You will often hear your first blade should be alternatively spent in books. Below is one of my favorites to get you going. https://www.amazon.com/Connoisseurs-Book-Japanese-Swords/dp/1568365810 Study, study, study and look at as many blades as possible online and in person if possible. Your studied brain/eyes and experience viewing blades and their costs will aid you in your first purchase so that it will hopefully be a piece that you will not soon tire of. Ebay is full of counterfeit and fakes. Avoid it like the plague until you have some good experience. Along with the NMB site, there are a lot of others that sell traditional nihonto, a few are listed below: https://www.aoijapan.com/ https://www.toukenkomachi.com/index_en_tachi&katana.html https://www.Japanese-sword-katana.jp/ https://www.tsuruginoya.com/artwork.html http://www.nihonto.us/ http://swordsofjapan.com/ http://yakiba.com/welcome.htm https://www.japanswordart.com/?fbclid=IwAR2lY2aI0iscLkeVPPVXGkij81QHe0EMpo-uyVFjcqSQmpkHDw1SGZsRacs https://soryu.pl/ https://www.raindragonfineartandantiques.com/swords-sword-fittings https://www.touken-matsumoto.jp/eng/index_e.php Hope this helps!

  21. Beautiful work! Dimensions coming?
  22. Here is a beautiful example for sale, a collaboration between Sadayoshi and his son Sadahito in late 97 right before Sadayoshi passed. https://www.tsuruginoya.com/items/a00520.html?fbclid=IwAR1PR37F2XoGdeI55FJsHhI08b48gbg2WAsKk9GJyVpcKqqQRDe-z3k3i2o
