Thank you very much, Uwe and Steve. I think Toto ni Oite means in the eastern capital (edo or tokio). So made by Kasama Ikkansai Shigetsugu in the eastern capital. But what means Tōto jū Myōhō?

Hello, I need some help with this Mei. I think it is a work of two smiths. One is Kasama Shigetsugu!? Thank you. https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/x1057002208?conversionType=item_browsing_history

And of course the homepage of the komiya family: http://www.siroukunimitu.com/?mode=pc

John, I saw your Kunimitsu in Kai Gunto Koshirae and added it to "my Oshigata database". You are right there are not many of his blades and sometimes I found unfortunately wrong information on the Internet about Kunimitsu. And google does not always translate the Japanese correctly. But it is fun to collect the information. :-)

Hi John, thank you very much for your support, I appreciate it.

I was able to get a few names with the help from R. Stein's site (http://www.japaneseswordindex.com/tosho.htm). I find such photos very interesting and always nice when you have a face to the blacksmith. I think others might also be interested in the translation.

Please everything with the names. :-)))

Hello, I am currently working on a summary about Komiya Shiro Kunimitsu. I hope someone can help me with the translation of the following two photos (Source: Kurihara Hikosaburo Akihide Zen Kiroku by Tsuchika Tameo). Thanks in advance.

Name of Hamon-Boshi course
Itomagoi replied to Itomagoi's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
Thanks for the link, Ken. I have read that of course. I would have thought that there is a name when the Hamon before Yokote suddenly changes the line such as "Yakidashi" the start of the Hamon at Hamachi. But not everything always has to have a name. Yes, it is very sad about the Kissaki. This blade is a Gendaito of Hiromasa 1943. -

Hello, I would like to ask you if this course of the Hamon to the Boshi has a special name. Maybe someone of you can show me more examples.

Attention Mantetsu Owners: A Survey
Itomagoi replied to Bruce Pennington's topic in Military Swords of Japan
From a welder's point of view, however, it makes no sense in this case. Cut the tang above the cross line, then weld it perfectly to another blade, grinding, perhaps then etch with acid, then cut a bohi and polish the blade. I can't imagine that. But I am not an expert. -

Sry, but I do not think that this sword has been welded together. This "cross line" is normal for a Koa Isshin Mantetsu. For example here: -

What a great sword for a good price, Stefan. I have also a blade made by Takahashi Yoshimune and I very happy with it. Good luck with the sale.

Many thanks in helping the translation. I find it a historical interesting sword with great mei. But for a seki-to in shirasaya very expensive. Thank you!

Hello, I need help with this Mei. According to the date it is from August 1945, so one of the last blades of WWII. Thank you in advice.

Hi Simon, price is € or $US?
