  1. Thank you John. You can also find almost the same tsuba in "Sword Guards and Fittings from Japan: The Collection of The Museum of Decorative Arts, Copenhagen" but there it is described as "Akasaka type" Krystian
  2. Hello, I found almost the same tsuba in Sasano book. Shape and size is identical as in Yagyu tsuba in the book. But there are no good enough pictures for me to compare. Could you share some close up photos of real Yagyu and some of your knowledge? Thank you in advance. There is simiar one on sale at Aoi https://www.aoijapan.com/tsuba-mumei-attributed-as-yagyu Best Regards, Krystian
  3. Hello, Could you help me with attribution of this tsuba? I think It is an Akasaka tsuba but I would like to hear your opinions. Best Regards, Krystian
  4. Hello, Could you please help me with reading this mei? I could not make a good picture so signature is copied on piece of paper as accurate as possible. Thak you in advance. Krustian

  6. Hello, Could you help me with translation of this certificate? And do you know who made It and how valid is it? Best Regards, Krystian
  7. Thank you. Do you have the exact same kanji on your tsuba? Where you able to read them? Well I just started collecting and while I have other bowl shaped tsuba this on is very different. I have no other tsuba with inlay like that. That is why It appears uncommon for me. I should have anticipated that for NMB members It could be a common design.
  8. Hello, I have this this bowl shape tsuba and can not find any similar ones or read the kanji. Could you help me with that? In my opinion shape and decorated seppa dai point to Namban but I could not find any with similar inlay. Best Regards, Krystian
  9. Thank you Ford. After your comments I can see it now. But if it is not to much I would like just to ask two more things. As Greg said nanako is distorted near the bug. But actually it is distorted all around "inlay". Is it an effect of casting? Where there any tools used to after casting of it was all cast? Even the small cuts on bugs? Once again thank you all for comments. And some pictures from the book. I am sorry for the low quality:( Best Regards, Krystian
  10. Dear Members, I had this daisho set for some time but I just got an album from Kiyomizu Sannenzaka Museum and found very similar set attributed to Kikuoka Mitsuyasu. Do you think mine is genuine or a copy? In advance thank you for all comments. Best Regards, Krystian
  11. Hello, Is it not the same tsuba? https://markussesko.com/2013/04/05/from-the-life-of-unno-shomin/ Regards. Krystian
  12. This is how the tsuba looks like
  13. Hello, Could you help me with reading this mei? It is a bit uncommon as it is on both sides of tsuba and near the rim. Thank you in advance. Krystian
  14. Hello, Could you help me with reading this sayagaki and certificate that comes with a sword? Thank you in advance. Krystian

  16. Hello, Could you help me with reading mei on this naginata? Thank you in advance. Krystian
  17. Thank you all for comments. I took some close up pictures of the tsuba and for me it looks like there is "blackish" paint all over. Rust looks brown and in close up there are no "sharp" edges that I usually see on the rust. There are also some places with visible silver steel color and some places with strange red? So I think that black paint Is a cover for all of those problems. So thank you George for you comment, I think It saved me a lot of trouble. I decided not to touch this tsuba myself. I will think about sending it to an expert or maybe selling it as it is. NTHK attributes It to Goto School so I am certain that there will be someone who will be happy to buy it regardless of the problems with patina. Once again thank you all for comments. This is an huge lesson for me to never buy something just because it has good attribution to It......
  18. Hello, I just bought this tsuba with nice flower pattern. But while carving looks great the color for me kills the effect. It looks for me like it is covered with extensive amount of oil? Or something different that add "sparkling" and black? Or this should look like that and something is wrong with me? But If I am right and it is covered with something what to do to safely remove it? It has NTHK origami (don't know if is important) Best Regards, Krystian
  19. Thank you.
