  1. This is very interesting topic and I would like to wrote an essay on it, however from lack of time here are just few short thoughts. 1. I think there is no better place to buy entry and mid level nihotno and tosogu then NMB sales board. I try to follow all online sales channels and I go to Japan few times a year. I do not know US and UK collectors market. Here on the board are many collectors with years of experience and looking for only the best deals. That is why It is the most difficult place to sell your item. You have to offer very good quality product in a price almost "under" the market value. Moreover you have hundreds of members looking at each sales post and if there is something very wrong with the item you will see a reaction. You will not get that anywhere else!!!!!!!! There are almost no "low quality items" and "ridiculous high prices" sellers here. They will post few times, not sell and move to other places. If you look around you can find items in better prices. But in my opinion if you take under consideration price, your time and knowledge of people on the board there is just no better place. 2. I think that It would benefit everyone if all sales posts could be commented on. With questions or valid information. I agree that comments like "Great Item, Would buy If I had cash" might just be mudding the water. 3. It would be great if there where more sales post here and more items to choose from!!!! I
  2. Thank you Ken, I will try to read about that and see how to use it. Could you share some pictures made with this 18% gray card? I will also check those cards on Amazon. Rich, in my opinion design of the first one is Kaneie School.
  3. Hello, Here are few tsuba pictures from my new photo set up. I am still working on 3D effect but I hope that I was able to show real color of iron. If you see something I could improve please let me know. Regards, Krystian
  4. But at this point I do not think that this blade could sell. Se Admin we can move it to nihonto section for discussion.
  5. I have never seen welded nakago so I am not sure what to look for. But I believe it should be rather straight thin line. I examined nakago in bright light and could not find any trace of it. Unless it is a thick 1 cm line with a different color but even so It does not make a distinctive line on both sides. I showed a blade to a collector in Poland with much more experience than me and he also does not see signs of welding.
  6. I did not know that. Thank you Marius. So If anyone wants to comment please do so here.
  7. There are some questions about the nakago. One place looks particulary strange. Here are some more photos. I know that comments in the sale section so prohibited so If you have any thoughts please write me a pm.
  8. Hello, Katana signed "Fujiwara Sadamichi" for sale. I am not used to selling swords so please do not hesitate to ask If you need any addition information, dimensions or photos. Most probably made in 18th or 19th century. Blade in good polish with just few minor rust spots. Very interesting hamon line and a lot of activities in the hamon. Only bigger problem I could notice are what appears to be cracks on mune. Size: Shirasaya: 93 cm Nagasa: 64 cm Moto-haba: 31 mm, Saki-haba: 18 mm, Kasane: 7 mm Sori: 8 mm Price: 2000 Euro More photos here: https://soryu.pl/collections/other-items/products/katana-signed-fujiwara-sadamichi Regards, Krystian
  9. Hello Mark, It is still for the taking. I send you pm. Regards, Krystian
  10. This is most probably how it looked with a rim. There was another layer of feathers is some places. I am sorry about the pictures. They look fine on my copmuter but here are on the side.
  11. Facebook cuts almost all of the pictures quality. That is why I put a link to a website where there are many high quality pictures. There is also a zoom option there so you can see everything even better.... I truly want to show how an item looks like. That is why a white background, lots of light and quality equipment. Tsuba will always look better in real life than on those pictures but at least you can see everything there is to see..
  12. It looks like the stand is part of original rim.
  13. few more pictures of legs
  14. I agree that I could not be worn on daily basis, but possibly ceremonial or special occasion? It could be that it was file. I need to examine it again tomorrow.
  15. The iron that goes in to wooden stand is one piece. In my opinion it is to thin to be a part of the rim that was left.
  16. Hello, I am posting this after very heated discussion on facebook. Mostly about esthetics of this tsuba but Mike Yamaski made some great points I would like to study a bit more. I thought that the rim was removed and than this tsuba was placed on a stand. He pointed out that it might not be a case at all. So: 1. Did It have rim and It was removed, or It never had a rim in the first place? 2. Have you seen more tsuba that originally did not have a rim? 3. And if so have you ever seen them mounted on a sword? I will try to go through my books tonight but all information would be appreciated. Regards, Krystian
  17. Thank you very much Jussi. Hope to hear from you again soon:)
