  1. Hello guys, I have a few questions about wakizashi to which I have an interest. The wakizashi is mumei with NBTHK Hozon attest to Takada school in middle Muramachi. In this particular blade i really like the hada and hamon. I know your opinion about mumei wakizashi, but this don't look like most junk mumei wakizashi on ebay and have NBTHK paper. My first question for nakago on the scan files it's seems to have some damages, what you think about them? My second question is that on the pictures of NBTHK papers under the hamachi it seems to have crack, which does not appear on the scan files? And what is your overall opinion about this blade? Please do not discuss Aoi, but only the blade because I do not want misunderstandings. Тhank you in advance. https://www.aoijapan.com/wakizashi-mumei-takada
  2. Sorry to hear for your bad experience with AOI. I was thinking to buy wakizashi from them, not very expensive. But after seeing your post, I'm a little skeptical. Can you post description from AOI? I wish you luck with this and get your money back!
  3. Stephen, the series have two print with rabbits, but they are not main subject. This one is with monkey king http://www.Japanese-finearts.com/item/item_images/35/A1-88-042-01/1-88-042-01_320.jpg And this is with Kintaro https://www.pinterest.com/pin/312226186638985634/
  4. Hello: The complete set is very rare and expensive. The only one i see for sale is first edition with all 100 print and the price is 96500.00 $. But is very rare and hard to find and the condition is excellent . https://www.fujiarts.com/cgi-bin/item.pl?item=713967
  5. Maybe some of you will be interested of this nice looking tanto! The seller is nihontocraft.com but they put it on ebay per owner request. It could be a nice bargain. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nihonto-NBTHK-Hozon-Jo-Saku-Japanese-Sword-Tanto-by-Kiyondo-Kiyomaru-School-/132353251214?hash=item1ed0de578e:g:k24AAOSwt5tZ1Ynw
  6. The second print title is Earth of Kawanakajima, from the series Selections for the Ten Stems by Utagawa Yoshifusa. Very nice one http://www.mfa.org/collections/object/earth-of-kawanakajima-kawanaka-no-tsuchi-yamamoto-dôki-from-the-series-selections-for-the-ten-stems-mitate-jikkan-no-uchi-462043
  7. Thank you for your quick response. I will check this smith. Blagoy is my real first name.
  8. I found this wakizashi for sale in one of the auction sites. It's not mine but it's very hard to find nihonto in my country and I am curious what the mei says. There is no other description besides is shinogi-zakuri wakizashi. The blade is very tired with broken tip and look like a junk, but you never know. Тhanks in advance.
  9. Now i understand. Found it http://www.sho-shin.com/koryu1.jpg
  10. What's the point of it? I don't understand why someone's will shorten a shinsakuto sword and replace the habaki on this beautiful horimono
  11. It is easy indeed Seller's description: "The forging grain is tight itame-hada, no opening, no blister and no forging flaws. There is no bend, no crack and cutting edge is sharp."
  12. Brian, if you want delete it. I just want opinion about the blade from the member of the board. Nothing more, nothing less.
  13. Michael, thanks for the quick response and for the link about green paper. I was curious, what members think about it. I found it for sale on Muramasa.us http://www.muramasa.us/for-sale-1.html
  14. One more time Muramasa tanto came up on ebay. The question is why the owner does not submit it to shinsa and sell it with green paper, when they are no more legit? The signature and nakago looks proper to my untrained eyes, but the hamon it's not what you expect from Muramasa. What do you think it is a gimei ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/TANTO-Antique-Japanese-Sword-NBTHK-Signed-MURAMASA-NO-RESERVE-/162626529412?hash=item25dd4be884:g:01AAAOSw8apZh7Ig
  15. I love dragon themes on fittings and art. Today i surf in net for dragons and this beauty landed oh my screen. Masterpiece end it will be nice if mount them on a sword. http://www.fordhallam.com/dragon-fuchi-kashira-set
  16. The only one Muramasa katana with signature that i see in internet is this one. http://www.samuraisword.com/nihontodisplay/JUYO/Muramasa/ Very beautiful and healthy juyo with nice Edo koshirae and Koto tsuba. In the description is written that the tsuba it's from same period as the blade. What you thing about this tsuba, it is original to the blade? Michael, i will love to see your Muramasa.
  17. Ok i found it. This is volume 1 from total 3 and they all have only wave design. If you want it in hend this is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-Wood-Block-Print-Book-3-vols-Wave-Design-Book-MEIJI-ERA-1903-/252419878454?hash=item3ac565ae36:g:aTEAAOSwtJZXWh2G
  18. Thank you for sharing. There are so many different design and i love it. I have a couple of antique books, but never see so many waves
  19. Before everything else sword it's a tool for killing and protection. Nihonto collector look to them as art, and yes they are art, but if you want to use it and stay alive it's good to fits you. As Darcy say, you must have comfortable blade and maybe the owner don't care about Tokugawa mon. The people who train with weapon know how difficult is to use them in the beginning. But finally the weapons should become a part of your body.
  20. Thank you Stephen. First i was thinking it's cup for tea, but it's too small. The decoration is interesting and have some kind of knitting from porcelain and it's a very delicate.
  21. I received it as a gift but don't now wath exactly is.If somebody can help with it will be great.
