1. Bojan, In this case you should not trust Index of Japanese Swordsmiths. It is a translation error that has been made. /Martin
2. Hello, Can you point out the Bizen den features for me? /Martin
3. Hi all, I really have to recommend this application. I covers, on top level, auction houses in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and others. On sub level, some auction houses have stores in Finland and other European stores. I have only tried this app for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .auctionet There is on for i-Phone as well: https://itunes.apple.com/app/auctionet/id762437955?mt=8 Using regular web, they have support for Deutsch and English language. I'm new to this and it would be great if someone perhaps already has the geographic cover. Anyone already used this for a while? Comments? /Martin
4. Chris, You are correct; a larger mask and I would have guessed Gassan. /Martin
5. Hello, Nobukuni mitsumasa tsukuri On what?...on metal? /Martin
6. Or even like this one: http://www.samuraishokai.jp/sword/13613.html /Martin
7. Ken, What about Yasushige? /Martin
8. Hello all, I recently had a bad experience where 2 of my blades were abused (probably by a photographer at an auction house) when they were out of my personal control. The blades have fingerprints on both sides and I would like to ask before I go ahead with a clean-up operation. I have a few ideas, but I feel it is good to look for other ideas. The prints have been on the blades for about 3 months I guess. What tips and tricks do you think would solve the problem? Any comment or suggestion will be gladly accepted. EDIT TO ADD: I have not tried anything as of yet, because I want opinions first. One total screw-up is enough. Thank you /Martin
9. Albert, How do you wash it away if you get it on your skin? I forgot the bar in the bathroom over night. The next morning my wife was screaming at me. She will contact you later on. /Martin
10. Hello Ken, I think it is more style rather than steel that was the major name changing reason. Let's see what "the others" will say. /Martin
11. I think the horomino looks started and not finalised. Even though it probably is finalised. Lack of details and depth. "Machine made" look. /Martin
12. Klaus, I think you are the expert ( : Did some research this morning and I find this to most likely be 9th gen. Kanemoto (Bunsei 文政 1818-1830). The research is mainly based on what it is probably not and the most likely is. /Martin
13. Klaus, I guess : ) Wanted to make a general point to general requests about identification and you post received the payload Try to get some photos of the whole blade and the hamon. If you can see it, you can catch it digitally. /Martin
14. Klaus, Do you know which year and model of this BMW? /Martin
15. It looks like NORIMUNE, maybe NORIIE. /Martin
16. Hello, Kunitoshi or Kuniyoshi? /Martin
17. Patrick, Yes. Now you have to find out if it is signed by the maker himself. There are many specimens on the web. /Martin
18. Hello Patrick, This is what you have: 藤原統景 Where 景 is only half visible due to the Suriage of the blade. I think this helps you even more in your continued research. /Martin
19. Patrick, I see other things, sane or not, and they do not correlate to what you just presented. The total number of Kanji is 3½ Fujiwara Munekage, this is what I see. Do some more research and post again. Was it coincidence that you got the ½ at the bottom right? /Martin
20. Hello! If you read Munekage you are not stuck. Perhaps if you post the Kanji here which represents your reading, then I will not be stuck. /Martin
