  1. You gonna post for Fred?
  2. it has double bo hi (soe hi?) and a kanji hormino on bothsides in the midle. Lots of nioie in the hamon kinda cloudy and has these little swirls above the hamon.
  3. http://s262.photobucket.com/albums/ii82 ... /Japanese/ above linkis to the album. I tried getting individual kanji. Then\se are tough, but someone thought enough about em to keep em.
  4. This is a saved mei in the Orikaeshi Mei setup. It is well worn. I will attach several pictures and an album link. Your assistance would be very appreciated.
  5. I'm leaning towards Edo copy. We know alot of these were copied as a very popular design. I lean that way because it cam on a very nice Edo Koshirae with some superb looking fittings. It would be odd to have these Edo koshirae and then a meijei tsuba.
  6. Yes thank you. I have seen these tsuba and they are quite nice. I was hoping to find a signature that was close to the one on mine. Thank you again.
  7. do you have a resource where I might look? The internet is not being helpful.
  8. I have a nihonto whose mei has been bent ver and added to the opposing side of the nakago. The problem is the smith bent the bottom kanji in 1/2 and it is somewhere in between the original side- the bottom- and the new side. To complicate this it is only 2 characters so It is kind of important to figure out what the first kanji in the mei actually is (or else I'm trying to read this backwards). I cant even get a goos look at it myself let alone fill it with talc and get a good picture. any advice>?
  9. Please excuse the photo. The photo is a dirty tsuba which has livened up quite a bit since I have received it. I did a simple cleaning and the mei is actually gold (leafed?) of some sort. Its not wire inlay but looks mercury style. The photo here is not my photo but the one sent to me before I purchased the piece. I just received today and cleaned with some oil and light nylon work and then drying off with cotton. If you could translate for me and perhaps point a finger in the general direction of the maker/school/etc... I would be much apreciated. Thank you my friends. edit: the tsuba is magnetic
  10. I bought a couple diff size euro tool pens to try and clean up some old rusty fittings. Now my biggest question is how did you keep the Gold on there when scrubbing?
  11. Not sure how I missed this book before.... If you give it a thumbs up i am certain it would be good in my collection.
  12. As i was cruising ebay for books I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-Sword- ... 53d715ea5b reviews? Has this book been vetted? Is this material honest and correct?
  13. Cant really say. Your pictures are not very good, and it would need to be shown much better. If it is oil quenched mass produced a couple hundred to a bit more if all the Gunto dress is in good shape. If a standard decent Gendaito then depending on the polish and condition could be worth a lil bit.
  14. IMO (very humble opinion) the nakago is well shaped for a nameless traditional war blade. Also (and I may just be seeing things) I noticed some traditional folds and what looked like nie swirls in a few places. Things I have not noticed in oil Tempered blades. May be a step up.

    Motif?

It does look like a hair piece.

    Menuki

I see horse hind end so far...... decorative saddle... don't see a rider.
  17. I did state I will not post the polishers names publicly, until I get a couple decent pictures. May be average, but compared to the before pics look amazing, and have alot of study points. These will be going to shinsa. Hozon real nihonto should be able to get a pass, and more information. Just something nice for an average joe like me to have.
  18. There are 2 swords there, which are you reffering to? Not entirely sure what you mean either, as there were many shapes of mune from steep to gentle, some were low and wide or low and thin. please explain so I can get an appropriate picture for you. I will take it out and get a picture of the mune.
  19. I was actually trying to have a bit of fun with Moss. My main problem is my photo skills are quite lacking, and if I was a polisher and had someone taking photos like this and advertising my name I would be pissed LOL. I do not want to disservice anyone who has spent years building a rep by my horrible photography. Perhaps when i visit Mark he will be able to capture a better shot. I have PM'd people who have asked the info needed.
  20. WW2 showa blade. NOt sure of the kanji, but has a calssic stamp. Also the nakago has not taken on much patina, tho I would hesitate to call it stainless looking at the rust on the kissaki.
  21. he got 3 yes but I can't find any more appearances after that
