Nobody Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Maybe Kaneoka (兼岡). The 2nd kanji looks like an old style of 岡. Quote
Markus Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Yes, Koichi-san is absolutely correct, Kaneoka. 兼罡 or somestimes also written 兼岊 There were several Muromachi-period Kaneoka smiths of Seki´s Zenjô lineage. Quote
Jimmy R Posted January 13, 2011 Author Report Posted January 13, 2011 Thank you for the input. This Yari is very old and is 98 centimeters in length w a wide Bo-hi and still very very sharp. I have not seen one like it before. If anyone wants to see it I will post a picture. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Please show us what it looks like! Quote
Jimmy R Posted January 13, 2011 Author Report Posted January 13, 2011 Is there a picture of his mei on pg 76 of the toko taikan? Also I have an original set of the 20 volume Nihon-to Koza if anyone can give me an idea where to look for this mei. Also is there a translated index for the 20 volume set? Thanks, What a great resource. I have been living in the dark until now. Jim Quote
