b.hennick Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Great to see Brian Tschernaga and David McDonald on the list. Both live in the USA and do excellent work. Brian makes habaki, shirasaya and can repair fittings and even make fittings if necessary. David wraps handles and can repair or make a new tsuka. He usually wraps two or three handles during a show. He also adjusted the fit of a saya for me... Congratulations to Frod Hallam who is also honoured on this list! My deepest appologies as I did not look at the fittings . Quote
george trotter Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks for posting this Chris...congratulations to all... George. Quote
Brian Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks for posting that. I can't tell you what a thrill it is to see South Africa represented there. Well done Ford and others! I hope Ford will post some pics of this item here soon. Brian Quote
tagonagy Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Does anyone have the results of previous competitions?. I've searched this forum and google and only managed to find the results of 2005 and what looks like a partial list of 2007. Quote
Brian Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Tony, This was for the NBSK, the new society recently formed, so I think the other results lists you looked at must have been for the NBTHK. Brian Quote
Mark Green Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 It would be very nice to see pictures with all these. I would think with todays ease of digital photos, it would be easy to add some pictures with the list. Is this planned? Anyone know? Congrats Ford! Quote
Ford Hallam Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Thanks Gents, for the congratulations My teacher, Izumi Sensei, told me they are planning an illustrated catalogue and he'll be sending me a copy. I'll scan the photos when I get it. Also, Pierre Nadeau said he'd take pics at the exhibition so I'll get hold of them too. I'll post some images of one entry shortly. regards, ford Quote
Ford Hallam Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Thank you Mr Morita, Eric... I'll post some images now in the tosogu section. regards, ford Quote
