Site Trouble Yesterday?

Brian,

Just wondering what happened yesterday afternoon (USA Mountain Time).  Tried a couple times, "Server Not Found" message kept popping up.

I was told there was an issue but by the time I logged in, all was working fine. The whole of SA has had some serious internet disruptions the past few days. Apparently massive DDOS attacks launched against all the ISP's, and most have had some serious problems, so I'm guessing that was part of it. No-one knows why or by whom, but it's a large one, and taken down most of the providers for a bit. I expect there may be some lingering issues over the next few days.

Wonder what the thinking or purpose would be for a country-wide attack?  What are they trying to achieve?

Site trouble today too. I haven't been able to look in for some six hours this afternoon.

Yeah, me too.  It was at 6:30 am Mountain Time USA.

Gave up trying to access the site, figuring it was better just to leave a block of time for it to resolve itself. Came back strongly, though.

Same here. “Server not found”. Off air for long periods yesterday.

Can only be the same issue, and I read some analysis of the methods being used for these attacks and they are extremely difficult for ISP's to mitigate. Just have to wait it out until the issue is over I'm afraid.

Had some issues too lately, but with a VPN to South Africa, all works fine

Same issues here in Germany. Sometimes slow loading, but website not available most of the day.

Probably again the aliens....

Same in Canada - world wide it seems but also resolves fairly quickly.

 

These sort of attacks against servers and other web agencies are going to continue and get worse as these folks have nothing better to do than cause others grief just because they can.

Also true for Europe/ Germany.
