Utopianarian Posted January 19, 2022 Report Posted January 19, 2022 Currently a Hiromitsu tanto is for auction on eBay. Obviously it’s Gimei but a good learning opportunity. The temper looks hitatsura but pattern looks nothing like Hiromitsu. Could be late soshu but more likely seki, mino or Shimada. Patterns look crescent shaped and mashed together. The nakago has the fish belly shape common in soshu but also in Shimada and other schools up thru the Muromachi. What do you guys think. Quote
Utopianarian Posted January 19, 2022 Author Report Posted January 19, 2022 The sellers name on eBay is bleeding_gums he has a few interesting pieces on auction he states from a large liquidation from a large collection. The Hiromitsu hitatsura temper looks too defined and exaggerated like tobiyaki instead of subdued or subtle like Hiromitsu Quote
Utopianarian Posted January 19, 2022 Author Report Posted January 19, 2022 Maybe a Muramasa disguised as a Hiromitsu lol 😂 Quote

Jean Posted January 20, 2022 Report Posted January 20, 2022 Typical sue Soshu hitatsura, not Mino. Can be Odawara Soshu lineage (Tsunahiro) or Shimada. Shinsa is a must. Quote
