barnejp Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Hi All, Looking for Hasui prints, Prefer early 1920's -1930's Thank you,Greg
PietroParis Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Roughly speaking, I'd say that for pre-earthquake prints - for which the woodblocks have been destroyed - you are looking upwards of $10000. First editions from the 1920s and 1930s (but post-1923) would normally cost in the (few) thousands. Later lifetime (i.e., up to 1957) editions of the early prints around a thousand or even less. Post-1989 editions from the original blocks (atozuri) cost around $250 in Watanabe's print shop, but other sellers will try to raise the price. Good luck, and if you find anything please show it here!!! Cheers, Pietro
PietroParis Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 400+ on eBay, Greg. The ones you see on eBay for $400-$500 or less are typically recent reprints.
PietroParis Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 BTW for all of us who certainly can't afford the pre-earthquake prints, there is this book
