Chishiki Posted March 25, 2020 Report Posted March 25, 2020 Hi. I think this is signed tadanori. Very nice pattern. What is interesting is that there is still what I believe to the an original coating of clear lacquer on it. First time ai have seen the original surface like this. Measures 7.5cm x 7.5cm. Has some surface pits but overall very good condition. $250usd Quote
Chishiki Posted March 27, 2020 Author Report Posted March 27, 2020 $200. That has to be cheap for a signed mokume tsuba. 1 Quote
Chishiki Posted March 27, 2020 Author Report Posted March 27, 2020 Hi. Sale withdrawn. Now on ebay. Quote
Chishiki Posted April 4, 2020 Author Report Posted April 4, 2020 As requested a couple of better pics. The tsuba looks dark as that is it’s colour. It still has it’s original clear lacquer. Very interesting to see. Mark 1 Quote
Chishiki Posted April 4, 2020 Author Report Posted April 4, 2020 Folks. I will end this for the moment. I just spoke to a friend who says it is probably lacquered black and the mokume is simulated. If you want to buy it based on that ok. I just think if I have miss described it someone may be confused with this post. Mark Quote
Brian Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 I just spoke to a lacquered black and the mokume is simulated..... Some weird version of blackface springs to mind... Quote
ROKUJURO Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 Seems some of the text is missing so that the rest makes not much sense. This is in my opinion an authentic steel MOKUME TSUBA. Quote
Brian Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 I agree..the patina may be fake or amateurish restoration, but the mokume looks legit and the folding lines follow all the way through. Quote

Sorry for the typos. I edited to correct it. I will get some better pics tomorrow. Thanks for your input. Mark Quote
