Hello

Please assist has papers but mei looks new for a 17th century sword.

DAIDO Awataguchi Fujiwara TADATSUNA was born in Keicho 14 (1609).

His name “Awataguchi” is related to “Awatakaji Blacksmith”

in Kyoto during the Kamakura period.

In 1642 he changed his name to “Omi-mori”.

Therefore, this sword is considered to be a WAKIZASHI made before 1642.

The sword he made when he was 67 has been found.

He made swords even at a very late age.

The excellent point of this sword, WAKIZASHI, is the design of Hamon,

which TADATSUNA excels at, and is very precious and beautiful.

Mostly Hamon, which can only make TADATSUNA, is called “ASHINAGA-CHOJI”.

TADAYOSHI was a swordsmith who went to Osaka and contributed to the

establishment of Katana's design called “OSAKA-SHINTO”.

TADATSUNA is one of the “big names” that is so great that its name

remains in history as the first person of “OSAKA-SHINTO”.

Wakizashi, the sword in this photo, can be said to be TADATSUNA's masterpiece.

To prove that, KATANA of TADATSUNA proves that the high-grade

NBTHK (Special preservation sword certificate) certificate is a masterpiece.

The signature has already been authenticated by the NBTHK. You can be pretty confident in their judgment. The signature looks fine, the wakizashi looks fine. No need to feel hesitant about the authenticity of this item. The paper says the sword is 1 shaku 7 sun. It actually looks longer in the photos, almost sword size, but I guess its a trick of the photography. Anyway, it looks healthy and fine, and looks like someone took good care of it.
