tokashikibob Posted March 22, 2019 Report Posted March 22, 2019 Gents, A friend of mine sent me some pics of this sword that came in the door today. I couldn't tell him much about it. Hard to find double hanger saya in a repurposed NCO type blade? Or am I way of base as this sword being a mashup? Best regards, Bob 2 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted March 22, 2019 Report Posted March 22, 2019 Bob, That's a legit Type 94 Officer gunto! They sometimes had fullered blades too. Hope someone can translate the kanji, they look quite unique! 1 Quote
Ooitame Posted March 22, 2019 Report Posted March 22, 2019 Not sure if this one is traditionaly made blade... Is that Sen suki Yasuri yasurimei or just scratches? Quote
tokashikibob Posted March 22, 2019 Author Report Posted March 22, 2019 THanks for the input fellas! The blade reminds me of a arsenal made forging like in some of the kyuguntos, and the mei is stamped it looks like. I'll have to drive over and take a look at it. And he's not close. BANGBANGSAN Posted March 22, 2019 Report Posted March 22, 2019 Tang says 造兵廠-Arsenal This is 村田刀 Murata To , it has arsenal made blade. http://ohmura-study.net/911.html It also called 造兵刀-Army Arsenal Balde http://ohmura-study.net/206.html I like these sword,It has officer sword looking ,but very easy to take care of the blade since it was made in arsenal like NCO sword. 2 Quote
