sdnzero Posted November 11, 2018 Report Posted November 11, 2018 need help with the id on this sword please. It was purchased with the story of someone finding it in their grandfathers garage after he passed. It was supposely brought back from Japan but cannot be confirmed. The place it was purchased from believed it was real and was sold as a "meiji era sword". It is ray skin on it and the sheath with blue dye inside and on some of the fittings. The handle is wrapped in a leather also instead of the cloth or silk or whatever. Also the sword is slightly shorter then the sheath like it was at one time cut down. Quote
sdnzero Posted November 12, 2018 Author Report Posted November 12, 2018 is there any value to these? Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 It’s possible a vet did bring this back. The tourist fakes were being made even back then. 1 Quote
