TETSUGENDO Posted November 2, 2018 Report Posted November 2, 2018 Well spotted Jean, great blade at a comparatively modest price.....someone should snatch this! -S- 1 Quote
mywei Posted November 2, 2018 Report Posted November 2, 2018 I think it's priced around as expected for a Juyo wakizashi no? Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted November 2, 2018 Report Posted November 2, 2018 Priced as expected? Here is an example of what I dislike about the grading system, it reduces Art to commodity, all Juyo are not equal. -S- Quote
Vermithrax16 Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 I like the Kanenaga Raymond had better than this one. Better pictures would help in a real evaluation. 1 Quote
Ray Singer Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 I still have it . Not for sale, but a nice writeup from Ted on this smith at the reference link below. http://swordsofjapan.com/project/shodai-tegai-kanenaga/ Fred's Kanenaga looks like a beauty as well. I agree that better photos would be helpful though. 2 Quote

But looking at this blade, its attribution and shinsa session I still don't think it is hugely underpriced, around a third of the price for a daito Jūto by upper tier Tegai of this quality. Ofc that is only my opinion Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 Matt, That thing, aesthetically, that strikes a chord is different for all of us. Something I find especially pleasing may do little for you, and vice versa. Any attempt, by me, to quantify your experience of an object is folly. Your opinion is completely valid. -S- 1 Quote
Pete Klein Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 All I can say is that if I had $14,750 in hand it would already be gone. Hell, I'd buy it for the shirasaya... Quote
