Jussi Ekholm Posted September 22, 2018 Report Posted September 22, 2018 Based on those pics I think sayagaki is 相模国住人行光 1 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted September 22, 2018 Report Posted September 22, 2018 "SHO-SHIN" province or mindset? Quote
Guest Rayhan Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 Suguta really reminds me of Hosokawa Masayoshi Den Sagami appears on the Sayagaki but no indication on length so hard to say. Yukimitsu did not do this type of hamon often (if at all). All the Yukimitsu I have seen in pictures or Oshigata show shallow suguha. Then again from these pictures it could be a really great china copy....who knows 1 Quote
vajo Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 Impossible to say what it is with these pictures. Quote
Guest Rayhan Posted September 23, 2018 Report Posted September 23, 2018 Yukimitsu research yields gunome, suguha, midare nothing as high on the shinogi as this and kissaki on Yukimitsu is different. But any chance the museum wants to send better info and pictures we could give it a go Quote
mareo1912 Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 I called them and after getting pulled through some receptionist phones I got to the archive department. They told me to write a mail for further inquiries and so I did. Will post here if I get any more pictures or informations. 4 Quote
mareo1912 Posted September 29, 2018 Report Posted September 29, 2018 I had a nice chat with the archive manager and while he is very busy the next months, he offered me some pictures as well as handling the pieces in hand next spring. Will keep you updated. Also they will put up a "Muramasa" Tanto for a new exhibition, pic attached. 2 Quote
Guest Rayhan Posted September 29, 2018 Report Posted September 29, 2018 I think the blade photographers on the NMB should lend them a few helpful tips on how to properly shoot steel? Quote
