ken kata Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 Hello Guys, Please help with your thoughts.. This was my 1st. "Real" Japanese Sword I bought in 2012. I have yet to know if this is a Mei, or, ?? This Sword was said to be from the Edo Period. Thanks for viewing.. Alton < Ken Kata on the forums. oh.. Came with this Tsuba, which was not the original.. I have since replaced it with a Mokko Tsuba. Quote

TETSUGENDO Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 I would also have switched out the tsuba Alton, good choice. What are the other fittings like? -S- Quote
SteveM Posted August 23, 2018 Report Posted August 23, 2018 Looks like some random scratching on the tang - it isn't a mei. 2 Quote

ken kata Posted August 24, 2018 Author Report Posted August 24, 2018 Stephen, Thanks for posting. I don't know what the value is. That time I bought the sword, one of the JSSHawaii members offered me the same price I paid for the whole sword. He somehow felt the Tsuba was "special".. ( Statement is not an advertisement ) .. P.M. me with your thoughts. Thanks. Alton Ken Quote
Stephen Posted August 25, 2018 Report Posted August 25, 2018 Hi Alton not sure what you paid for sword but i doubt i can afford the tsuba if worth that much. Quote
TETSUGENDO Posted August 26, 2018 Report Posted August 26, 2018 Alton, You should let the fellow who tendered that generous offer know that the Tsuba is available, I can't imagine many would meet or better that price. Otherwise, Stephen would give it a good home.... or find it one. Cheers, -S- 2 Quote
