hddennis Posted June 1, 2018 Author Report Posted June 1, 2018 Thanks Guys. So the signature reads FUJIWARA HISANAGA SAKU Correct? Any idea on time period or place? I can't turn up anything online for this smith. Howard Dennis Quote
John A Stuart Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 Maybe the Kyoho period smith from Iyo province. John Quote
Peter Bleed Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 John has found the best available listing for this name, but - to me - this looks newer than Kyoho. An unlisted Bakumatsu Edo smith??? Peter Quote
hddennis Posted June 2, 2018 Author Report Posted June 2, 2018 John has found the best available listing for this name, but - to me - this looks newer than Kyoho. An unlisted Bakumatsu Edo smith??? Peter I have gone back and tried to take better pictures but just don't have the skill or equipment. After this post I went back and looked at the yari and it is browner than it appears in the photos and the signature a lot fainter than it looks in my pictures and I think it looks older than this in person but I just can't capture it on film.
