gary4554 Posted February 12, 2018 Report Posted February 12, 2018 Does anyone recognize this mark or symbol? It on the reverse of the tsuba, part of a 15 inch sword. It very tiny, hope you can see the photo in detail. Thank you all ! Quote
lonely panet Posted February 12, 2018 Report Posted February 12, 2018 looks like a upside down TAI, as in taisho period Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted February 12, 2018 Report Posted February 12, 2018 Tsuba or nakago? And I'd say it's upside down? Quote
gary4554 Posted February 13, 2018 Author Report Posted February 13, 2018 Here are a few more photos. The mark is on the back of the part in the 3rd photo. 1 Quote
gary4554 Posted February 13, 2018 Author Report Posted February 13, 2018 Sorry, two more pictures. Quote
vajo Posted February 14, 2018 Report Posted February 14, 2018 Taisho period stamp as hamfish said. Looks like a brand mark from a crafting shop. Give the fittings and the blade a little bit of choji oil and they look nice. I would clean the tsuka with a smooth brush from the dirt. The habaki looks interesting. Quote
