Michael 67 Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 Hello everybody. I have found this Tsuba. I find the Tsuba very interesting and big, 9 cm x 8 cm, 4mm thick. Who can give me more information? What do the stamps mean? Saotome Tsuba, Mokko gata with udenuki ana? Any help is appreciated. Many thanks Michael Quote
rkg Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 Michael, Funny, I just happen to be sitting here with a table covered with saotome/Tempo/etc pieces right next to me this morning. I'd actually go with the Tembo/tempo/tenpo/whatever "bin" (or possibly one of the other groups that decorated with hot stamps) rather than Saotome work. I'd guess its later edo period as well, but YMMV on that. here's a handy dandy chart showing the most common stamps the Tembo/tempo/tenpo/whatever guys used that I think somebody posted here in the distant past: Best, rkg (Richard George) Quote
