I had a feeling we might restart this one when I saw the ken, (Yes, I know but really!  We can be pretty sure that this was a typo can't we?)  on Aoi Art.  Very pretty thing!

I wasn't expecting a question without expecting an answer when I posed this  - and also without expecting to say anything, but...

Aoi Arts-sama  is a wonderful gentleman who presents us all with treat everyday. And anybody who goes to the NBTHK Museum without dropping by his shop is missing a trick ( HINT  If you go THERE you get to touch the stuff!).

Whatever is the relations twixt yari and ken, description of this item as a "Yari" is not a translation error. In kanji it is described as a "yari".

The world is a complex place!

Have to vote Ken in spite of translation = look at length, shape and even the perfectly symetrical habachi - that plus the fact it is stated to be in a shrine -= Did Anyone contact Tsuruta san for clarification >?

Hi Brian.

I have e mailed though I felt embarrassed asking.  Not heard yet.  Will let you know if I do though I can't really see the debate here.

All the best.
