Brian Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 Dunno about you, but I can answer it. Maybe incorrectly, but an answer never the less For me, clearly a ken. And a very good deal. Quote
Geraint Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 I had a feeling we might restart this one when I saw the ken, (Yes, I know but really! We can be pretty sure that this was a typo can't we?) on Aoi Art. Very pretty thing! All the best Quote
christianmalterre Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 description and pictures are given! i guess, a simple translation error here, which did occur (like it´s happening such ofthen...) i agree with the above given hypothese Brian did post. Christian Quote
Stephen Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 I can attest from communication of late with Aoi Art there are some newbies in the shop. Quote
jason_mazzy Posted September 11, 2015 Report Posted September 11, 2015 I hope i win lol..... but I'm poor lol. Quote
Peter Bleed Posted September 12, 2015 Author Report Posted September 12, 2015 I wasn't expecting a question without expecting an answer when I posed this - and also without expecting to say anything, but... Aoi Arts-sama is a wonderful gentleman who presents us all with treat everyday. And anybody who goes to the NBTHK Museum without dropping by his shop is missing a trick ( HINT If you go THERE you get to touch the stuff!). Whatever is the relations twixt yari and ken, description of this item as a "Yari" is not a translation error. In kanji it is described as a "yari". The world is a complex place! Peter 1 Quote
drbvac Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Have to vote Ken in spite of translation = look at length, shape and even the perfectly symetrical habachi - that plus the fact it is stated to be in a shrine -= Did Anyone contact Tsuruta san for clarification >? Quote
Geraint Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Hi Brian. I have e mailed though I felt embarrassed asking. Not heard yet. Will let you know if I do though I can't really see the debate here. All the best. Quote
