English Index for Shinshinto Taikan (single volume)

Hi,

 

I'm relatively new to the subject of nihonto. I own a good copy of the Shinshinto taikan (single volume, it includes a sword i'm soon to own!), and i found the .zip file with book indexes (stored somewhere on this server). But that one does not include the single volume index, only for both volumes, and all the plates & pages are different.

 

Any chance anyone here stumbled on the same problem some time?

I did, Axel and someone sent me a few scanned typewriter pages. I did a .pdf file but as I did not make this index, I am not sure whether it is complete. Maybe it is of use to you and others.

Hi Axel,

It would be a great learning experience for you if you were to make the index yourself. At the end of the project you would know a lot more of the Kanji in sword signatures and you'd have looked closely at a lot of very good blades.

Though I'm interested and willing to learn more kanji, most of the advanced ones are outside my reach at this moment. Hiragana/katakana are OK and really recognizable. Most others would need references for me to place them together. Though i agree, doing something like that, even for 1 page will teach you a lot. Perhaps I'll do so later when i have the time .
