I would not be at all surprised if the shop owner doesn't even know this is listed. The Ebay listing is being done during holiday time on top of it. So someone makes him what they believe is a good offer, pays him, then he goes and buys the sword from the dealer and pockets the difference. It's not all that uncommon.

Completely agree. Just another seller listing items he does not own, and if somone purchases it, he makes a healthy profit. Just like the other Japanese sellers we have discussed lately. Not illegal...just taking a chance to make a quick buck.

The best way to avoid it is to know your subject and pricing. I expect we will see more and more of this with the amount of sellers that do not ship internationally.
