Nomura Masahide?

A friend of mine showed me this fuchi and wanted a translation and maybe an okay for the signature.

 

I find the quality so poor, that I can only say gimei. But I have no further informations and so I ask for confirmation.

Why would you say poor quality?

Nanako doesn't have to be tiny to be well done. As long as they are uniform and straight, they can be well done. In this case, they look well punched, and the lines are straight and true. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but certainly not poor quality?

well, the shishi looks more like a gremlin to me. But I only found this example in the indernet and when I make a comparison....just poor. And with the different "Masa" came the gimei.

Has to be two seperate artisits signing with Nomura Masahide. The last pic looks distinctly Ishiguro school work; the first generic. John

The different kao and the alternate 英 for 'hide' assures it, I believe. J

While both of Uwe’s two postings are of fuchi-gashira with mei of Nomura Masahide, the first artist is Haynes’

H 03936.0, while the second is H 03944.0, the eighth master of the Nomura family line. Both kao are illustrated by Haynes, and both works appear to be genuine.
