  1. Hello, I looked at the preview but I couldnt see an example of a page that has any smiths on it. Could you post a random page that shows the smith and so on? Very interested! Regards,
  2. Sir, thank you for the reply! The Emura I have now is a dead ringer for a Nagamitsu I used to have, the main difference being the sugata. Also I had a Hosho Hiromasa with the same Bizen style work as Emura and Nagamitsu.. Im not really into Gendaito but I am starting to appreciate them more! Thank you again for your input!!! Respectfully,
  3. It is written that the bishu mei were swords produced at the prison. Since there are no dates is it safe to assume there were other mei used during his production at Okayama prison? Respectfully,
  4. Thank you for the info, I appreciate it as I have no books on showa era smiths. Regards,
  5. Is it known if that's a daimei or not? Thanks!
  6. Does anyone know how rare his "e" tachi mei is? Thanks in advance!
  7. Sorry to say I think most schools shy away from it because of the liability... Regards,
  8. Hello all, I have a blade that I would like to sell but the photos from the previous owner as well as my own fail to show the blade.. its not a great blade but it is a good one, so is there a business or an individual that offers this service? Respectfully,
  9. Hello all, avid iaijutsu here.. I've used nothing but true nihonto for kata for a while now, before that mainly bokuto. Obviously no cutting with old swords... I'm glad other people use them for their practicle side as well! Respectfully,
  10. I didn't think about matching the polishers mark and I didn't notice the difference in the width of the strokes.. Good eyes guys...!
  11. The mekugi-ana and nei seem the same to me? Attribution regret?
  12. So its an expensive lesson. I would bet most of us have spent about that in mistakes over the years. But if you like it, that is what counts. Now that you have joined the nmb you will learn a lot and will make better purchases in the future. Respectfully,
  13. May I ask why you bought this tanto? Was it the name or the blade? Respectfully,
  14. I couldn't agree more! Brian FYI, I asked for some direction on a sword and wad told it was " second class workmanship" and it is a sword that I like very much.. At first I wanted to react like you but after a few minutes I realized the level of blades he deals with are very high end and would probably look at my sword and a garden tool. Collect for you and only you! Being an fng sucks no matter what
  15. I was referring to the shinsa organizations, not your comments
  16. IMHO anything that sparks a discussion is great. Everybody has their own way of communicating and you can't take it personal! One man's junk is another man's Juyo! I'm sure most have heard stories about a mumei getting 3 different attributions when sent 3 separate times. I have...? Politics always have a role in any organization...
  17. Brian, I noticed you stated that the menuki were gunto menuki but then you state you don't think the tsuka-ito was re-done. But WWII menuki would not be original on an Edo period sword.. Ive said this before to you in a post but if you ask opinions don't get defensive regarding the replies.. Respectfully,
  18. Jean, I appreciate the link. It's just people are careful with their thoughts when they are written down for everyone to see as to not offend. So I was looking for a candid opinion and I believe Mr. Bowen answered it the best he could considering his position. Regards,
  19. Agreed, but this is a mumei and he added his own comments versus just a plain attribution. Regards,
  20. Understood, thank you!
  21. Just wanted to see what the general consensus is regarding the validity of his origami? Thank you!
  22. I think its up to 265.00 on ebay...
  23. Forgot to mention his secretary emailed me this.. I will look for the email tonight to make sure I quoted it correctly.
  24. He deals on eBay and the swords and fittings in his site are not for sale. I inquired a couple of years ago and was told its all in boxes? with no plans to sell... The question I have is on his auctions he never uses nihonto terms nor does he translate the mei, yet he owns those blades that are on his web page? Maybe he omits the details on the auctions to reduce liability..?
  25. As long as you are happy!!! :D
