    David, I believe the Japanese consider some swords made even after 1876 to be Shinshinto. The Shinshinto Taikan illustrates such swords made well into the 20th century. I'm guessing (because I can't read Japanese fluently) that that is why they are included in the Taikan??? Regards, BaZZa. In the Shinshinto taikan (vol. 2) it is clearly spoken of Gendaito (see chapter title page 231).
