  2. I hope whoever wins has the resources to finnish the restoration. It would be a shame for it to just sit that way for another 60 years. Reuben NihontoSeeker
  3. Ok AoiArt says FedEx won't ship my sword as they consider them weapons so they want to declare it a kitchen knife and ship it at a value, a fraction of what its worth. I will not buy from Japan anymore till this B.S gets fixed. Wake up Japan we can't buy if you won't ship fools!! I've 4 swords in Japan......4!!!!!!!!!!! Am I not going to get them back!!!! I want my freaking swords back Japan. What a mess. Wake up everyone, this is an emergency.... Who is doing what? Who's writing letters? You big organizations should be taking charge of this massive problem. If we are to grow, changes need to happen right now. I am with Ron Watson, I am ready to go to war, war is not polite. Reuben
  4. I have several blades in Japan at various stages of restoration. My last piece is stuck at Japan Post cause of no "receivers" name on the box. I've sent swords previous to Japan and they know the workshop, they know the sword is mine, but this time they will not release, even though it was addressed the same way as previous. Now I'm told I have no right to ask for them to ship it back. Good ole pain in the ass shipping. NihontoSeeker Reuben.
  5. Jean I said something as there was no Sig at the time. If you look you would see one edit. Look at the time of my post, his edit and then your post. I have been signing all my post this way from the start Steve. Username NihontoSeeker. Reuben
  6. It would help to sign your post so we know who you are. More pictures of the entire blade/s would help in the sale. NihontoSeeker

  12. I am honored to say that I ended up with the responsibility to restore and care for the Shinkai and Yukihiro from the Hartley collection. They will both go for restoration and papers. After, they will rejoin a beautiful Kanesada from the Hartley collection. I am unsure as to the rest of the original collection as He had many wonderful pieces. I'm happy to soon have 3 pieces to honer a wonderful memory, a true lover of history. T hanks to everyone who has helped me along the way in finding true diamonds in the ruff. NihontoSeeker

  18. Thank you NMB members who said more then go search for it. Ive read and have come as far as what most of you all have said, hence i seek more then GO SEARCH FOR IT. Yes info in english is limited to what there is to know about Sengoku era katateuchi and even fewer pictures as examples. I think ive found some examples on the JSSC website, Ill ask Fred. Thank you again NMB members who lead rather then point. Are you looking some specific information or general information on them? As you've noticed information in English on them is pretty scarce online. The couple threads on this forum and Shibui Swords are pretty much the only ones I'm aware of. However I have intrest of this type and have some literary sources which contain information about katate-uchi in English. You will want to check Koto-kantei by Markus Sesko, also Nihonto Koza and Yamanaka Newsletters _________________ Jussi Ekholm Tks JussiSan i will look for those books for more study. Reuben NihontoSeeker
  19. Hi NMB members I look once again to the vast knowlage of you all... Can anyone direct me to me to more info on the Sengoku era (bunmei-tenmon), shinogi tsukuri, katateuchi, with one handed Nakago. Thank you Reuben NihontoSeeker
  20. George you have a good point about 50k pieces.....as a new collector i would be lucky to tell the difference between a 25k sword or a 50k sword, i look to the market, the market always dictates and advice of dealers and more experienced collectors. anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
