    Mei Translation

Blade is in Gunto fittings, and Koshirae. Looks to have taka no ha Yasurime. The blade is in OK polish with little corrosion but it's hard to make out the hamon. It's Suguha though. Thank you very much in advance Jamie
  4. I do not have the translation, but that is a nice Tsuba.
  5. That does look to be Naokatsu I am just learning-so keep in mind others translations may be more accurate than mine.
  6. ok thanks... wish i had gtten everything else with it. is there any place i can aquire everything (orginal pieces) needed to complete ? No -they must be re made by someone qualified. This article may help you also. http://www.nbthk-ab.org/Etiquette.htm

  9. Tenmon Mihara school
  10. Eric, Thanks. I just missed that his measurement was overall length. I was thinking Nagasa for some reason. Even though the pic is clearly a wak.
  11. I'd appreciate it.
  12. 26.5 inches would be considered a katana wouldn't it?
  13. Jeremy, As others have said, it probably is worth the given price. However I tend to agree that you'll be happier if you can actually see the activities in the blade. If you don't intend to polish this(it may or may not even take a polish, or be worth polishing.) Then I wonder why you'd purchase it. I'd buy a blade out of polish-but only if my intention was to get it polished. As jean points out there won't be much to look at. I would at least look at some blades in polish and make sure you'd be happy with one out of polish. If you don't want to save more money-consider purchasing a tanto that's in polish. You'd be able to find a nice tanto for just a bit more than this purchase price. Unless the premise is just to own a piece of samurai lore-then this might be a good choice. I'll tell you this-if you have something that is poished nicely, you will pull it out over and over and notice new subtleties practically every time you look at it. In my opinion, that is nihonto. 14. I missed that you signed and apologize. My bad You might try Swordstore.com as well. They will have pieces commissioned for you as well. I don't believe they hold inventory at all though. They are easy to work with though.
  15. This is not the forum for that Discussion, but there are many sites- and sources for such blades. PM me-I might be able to help a bit. Also, Please sign your posts, as it is NMB rules. Thanks Jamie
  16. Congrats man.
  17. Try Google translate.
  18. Nice work. I bet you'll enjoy Mr Hallam's work and site. Did you do the Tsuka core as well?
  19. I haven't been collecting that long, so I was hesitant to chime in. The above is exactly what I heard at the end of the last Tampa show last year.
  20. That looks like a really good job. The chips on the left look to be fairly far into the Hamon. Nice Job.
  21. Niclas, I was referring to Automatic knives in that post. But we can own full auto guns as well. For that though- you do need a permit. Other than that though-our gun laws aren't that strict. And as far as the police go, guns have been legal here forever, since the beginning of the country. So there are so many that aren't registered at all. And sales between people you just basicly write and keep a bill of sale and document all serial numbers. You can literally take cash and hand off a gun you own to someone else. You'd want to document ALL serial #s and Keep a bill of sale just in case that gun were ever stolen and used in a crime or anything weird like that.
  22. Blade laws are weird. As someone else stated here in the US- We can get A permit to carry a concealed pistol pretty easily. So long as you haven't been convicted of a violent crime, or felony. But carry a blade over about palm length and you're in trouble. But you can own whatever you'd like, including full auto's.
  23. Your pictures are not showing. just an FYI
  24. Harry, You don't need to be a member to submit. The only Membership needed is if submitting to NBTHK for Juyo I believe.
