Hi guys,

I have 2 smiths in a book, Obutsu Tohaku Meito Oshigata by Dr. Sato, that I can't read. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

# 69 is a kin-zogan mei with a kao.

Thanks, Grey

Hi Chris,

Thanks; I didn't notice. I'm still recovering from the plague you brought home from Japan.

Does anyone know if Shuri no Suke went by another name or what the significance of the signature is? I find no reference to a smith with this name. The book being swords of the Imperial family, he must be a known quantity.

Hi Grey,

Concerning the title of the book,it is correct to read as [ Gyobutsu Tohaku Meito Oshigata ] , not " Obutsu" .

Gyobutsu(gyo-butsu) means Imperial treasures.

Hi Morita-san,

Thank you. Before I change the title in my index I want to make sure we're talking about the same book. Does the title below correspond with what you expect?
