Just by way of sharing experiences with sellers. I have made two purchases in the last year or so from this seller and have been very satisfied with my dealings with them. I found them to be cordial to do business with and Yuji-san provided excellent and prompt communication. Their prices seem reasonable and the quality, at least in the purchases I made, is there. Of course one should know what one is looking at and ask questions, important in any distance transaction.

Once purchased a superb tsuba there and was also pleased with all aspects of the deal. I think back then I also recommended them here:thumbsup:

I also have purchased a sword from Yuji-san, he handled the export paperwork like a champ. He is just a great person with a passion for Nihonto that's contagious! If you are in Nagoya his shop is a must see, but be prepared to spend hours, there's a lot of swords and tsuba there.

They've been around a very long time.

Widely respected, though their site hasn't changed much in nearly 25 years.

They post less items each year, so I worry about their age.

While I don't think I have every bought from them, I have seen some purchases from them.

Usually it is pretty good stuff. I am still trying to buy a tsuba from someone who purchased it from Tokugawa Art. I wish I had seen it and bought it when they had it listed. One of my neighbors beat me to it.

Every now and then, they surface some gems.

I was just at Yuji’s shop in Nagoya visiting with him a few weeks ago. He’s doing great, no problems. Really great person and really into what he does. If anyone is not aware, what he posts on the website is like a fraction of what he carries in store. His store is stocked to the gills with treasures. It’s just him that posts things to his website so he doesn’t post that much. If you want to know more than what he shows on the website, just ask.

He brought out his prized signed “-“ Ichimonji tachi for us to view while I was there and it’s a beauty. Apparently not for sale though 😂

Anyway he facilitated the polish of a sword for me that we are submitting for Juyo shinsa this year, polished by Sugihara Hiroshi.

Very nice! Good luck, and hopefully we can see some pictures regardless of the outcome :glee:

I remember purchasing from his website way back in 2006.  It was a nice tusba at a reasonable price that has long since left my personal Japanese art collection.  I haven't been at his website recently, but still have it bookmarked. I think I will take a look.

I discovered the site thanks to you on the forum.
It's always a pleasure to see what's in stock; the service is always charming and very fast.

The prices are reasonable.

I hope to return to Japan and stop in Nagoya to visit the store; your anecdotes have certainly piqued my interest.

Thank you again, gentlemen.
