Hokke Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Report Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM When I have contacted Markus in the past he was always prompt in his response. However, I never contacted him during the holidays, so please be patient if it takes a bit. 1 Quote
eternal_newbie Posted yesterday at 03:30 PM Report Posted yesterday at 03:30 PM 11 minutes ago, Swords said: Is this the correct book it’s 59.00 As others have said - that's the first book in a series of 3, covering smiths with name starting AKI-KUNI. At the very least, the smith you're looking for (YOSHISHIGE) is likely to be in the third volume, covering smiths with names starting SATO-ZEN: https://www.lulu.com/shop/markus-sesko/swordsmiths-of-Japan-sato-zen-intl/hardcover/product-19k5g8wv.html?page=1&pageSize=4 Or buy the eBook, which combines all 3 books into one PDF at a lower price overall: https://www.lulu.com/shop/markus-sesko/e-swordsmiths-of-Japan/ebook/product-1zk9mrzq.html?page=1&pageSize=4 Quote
Scogg Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Steve, this resource is only worth getting if you actually intend to use it. To be blunt, your forum history shows a consistent pattern of ignoring recommended materials and coming back to have the same information spelled out for you. At this point, it comes across less like you’re here to learn and more like you’re here to avoid learning, by outsourcing the effort to others. If that doesn’t change, there’s no reason to believe these books will be any different from the resources you’ve already ignored. I genuinely hope that pattern changes, but only you know your true motivations. -Sam 1 1 Quote

Brian Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago Steve, These encyclopedias are literally a list of names, with some brief description of the smith and when he worked. No pics, no description of swords. Just a dictionary of all the smiths and who they were. useful, but not if you are only ever going to look up 5 or 6 smiths. 3 Quote
Swords Posted 21 hours ago Author Report Posted 21 hours ago I agree I sent Markus a message Hoping he will respond Thanks Brian Quote
